Travellers enjoying Europe’s extensive rail network can get better deals on their train tickets the earlier they book.
To ensure travellers get the best deals on their train tickets Rail Europe suggests checking on the website for the best times to book, which can be from three months to six months in advance of the date of travel.
To find the best time to book, select the train of choice and the FAQ ”How long in advance can you book a (train name) ticket?”.
Travellers to Europe can find the best deals for early booking on the Special Offers section of the website. For example: Up to 70 per cent off train travel between London, Paris and Brussels if you book up to six months in advance.
Here are the best times to book the following rail carriers, to make sure you get the best deal.
Book up to 6 months in advance: Eurostar, City Night Line
Book up to 4 months in advance: German and Italian day trains
Book up to 3 months in advance: All TGV’s (TGV, TGV Brussels France, TGV Lyria, TGV France Italy), Elipsos, trains in Hungary, Italian trains, Norwegian trains, Swedish trains, Swiss trains.
